The State of Antarctica
In the year 2142, the third worldwar between the United Federation of the Western States and the Neo-Communistic Empire ended after it has destroyed 81% of the earth’s ecologic systems and killed about 60% of the whole world population.
The survivers, about 4 billion people, fled to the State of Antarctica.
The State of Antarctica was the only continent on earth that has not been contaminated with the nuclear radiation of the uncountable bombs that detonated during WW3. As scientologists discovered in the 20th century, a huge continent with lots of bis islands was underneath the mile-thick ice.
The State of Antarctica was found on the 17th of October 2113 by the WNU (Worldwide Neutral Union) after melting the ice for drinking water production in the years from 2096 to 2109.
New Washington, the capital of the SoA, is shelter for the refugees of WW3 and also is called Noah’s City (in adaption to Noah’s ark). More than 2,5 billions of people are living in this city and so it’s the biggest city of the old World. The next big cities are New Bejing (about 1,5 billion inhabitants) and New Lima (about 0,9 billion inhabitants).
The SoA is the last place on earth, where the people can live.
Settling to the new world
It’s impossible to provide for all inhabitants of the State of Antarctica. Even with the new technolgy of systhetic food. So, the leaders of the old world decided to settle about 1 billion people of the old world to Renascera. Renascera is an earthlike planet in a close solar system and already is used for raising ressources. 264 million of people already live there and prepared vast landscapes for a quick settling. Big cities have been built and were ready to revive.
On the 4th of July 2213 a huge fleet of intergalactic transporters started it’s journey towards Renascera and reached the new world – exactly as planned – on the 17th of October in memory of the founding of the State of Antarctica.
The people moved into the three prepared cities Gallego, Nakamura and Johnson, although as the capital of Renascera – New Jericho.
Renascera offers more than enough ressources für the next thousands of years.
